The Mesothelioma Files

Although we have missed this year’s National Action Mesothelioma Day, 27th February, 2008. I thought I would mention it, as maybe I could do something for this next year. Peter was too poorly to go out and attend an event this year, so we decided to give it a miss. However, I think I will attend an event next year.

Did you know?:

• More people die from an asbestos-related disease than are killed on the roads, per year.
• Weekly, about 20 tradesmen die from an asbestos-related disease.
• Weekly, about 6 electricians die from an asbestos-related disease.
• Weekly, about 3 plumbers die from an asbestos-related disease.
• Asbestos can be present in buildings built, or refurbished before the year 2000.
